Clark Memorial and its Community Outreach Department
offer a variety of health presentations and seminars designed to help educate and
strengthen the people of our community. Whether you're dealing with a specific health
problem or you're interested in prevention, education is the key.
Many of our seminars include free screenings and
evaluations that give you specific information about your current health. Through wellness
education at Clark Memorial, you can learn how to make healthier choices.
Seminar topics that directly affect your life,
include:
Women's Programs
From osteoporosis to breast cancer, the Women's Care Place at Clark Memorial offers a wide variety of educational
programs and seminars specifically for women's health issues, such as breastfeeding,
prepared childbirth and menopause wellness classes.
Orthopedics/Neurology
Stroke, headaches, sleeping disorders, arthritis, and bone and joint replacement are just
a few of the topics addressed at the seminars.
Primary Care
Seminars are available to help you and your family live a more educated, healthier
lifestyle. Clark Memorial provides blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, diabetes
care, as well as presentations on nutrition, cardiovascular care and total health
management.
Men's Health Programs
One of the most important aspects of men's health is creating an environment in which
men's health concerns are acknowledged and respected. Clark Memorial offers men up-to-date
information in a relaxed and congenial atmosphere. Our seminars are designed for men of
all ages and interests -- we're looking forward to seeing you!
Support Groups/Behavioral Health
We offer support groups for persons and families who have been afflicted by breast cancer,
diabetes, mental illness and pregnancy loss. We also offer behavioral health services on a
wide range of issues such as stress management, grief and family relationships.
Diabetes Management
Program
Our highly successful program, recognized by the American Diabetes Association, is
staffed by healthcare professionals with special education in diabetes care. You and your
family will work individually with a team that includes a nurse specialist, registered
dietitian, endocrinologist, pharmacist and exercise specialist. They will address any
questions or concerns you have about diabetes. Please give us a call for more information

For individuals living with diabetes, challenges are everywhere.
Learning to cope with these everyday struggles is hard, but others share
in those challenges and provide support and comfort. The Diabetes
Support Group at Clark Memorial Hospital offers support, education and
fellowship among people with diabetes and their families. Meetings are
held in the Lois A. Kratz Health and Wellness Center Conference Room.
