iThe Cancer Care Program at Clark Memorial has earned the American College of Surgeon’s Commission on Cancer Outstanding Achievement Award, along with full commendation. No other program in the entire metro area has received this honor.
This prestigious award is reserved for programs that demonstrate the full continuum of cancer care, including prevention, early diagnosis, cancer staging, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, life-long follow-up and end-of life care.
The Norton Cancer Institute Pat Harrison Resource Center opened its doors on the Clark Memorial Health campus February, 2016. Since that time, they have touched the lives of hundreds of people from our community who have been affected by cancer. We are here to assist patients with a variety of cancer types, including breast, prostate, lung, colon and lymphoma.
The dedicated staff at the Resource Center understands a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. From the moment you hear the news, your life changes, impacting your family and every aspect of your life. You are not alone. We’re here to help with up-to-date information on cancer prevention and treatment as well as a variety of free support services to address the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of everyone impacted by your diagnosis.
Cancer prevention begins with education. We conduct a number of community cancer screening events to promote awareness. These include screenings and education on lung cancer, breast cancer awareness, mammograms, colon cancer, skin cancer, tobacco prevention and cessation, nutrition, exercise and healthy living resources.
Designed with input from southern Indiana doctors, patients and family, Our Cancer Care Place provides a supportive and comfortable setting for treatment, with a focus on renewing body and spirit.
