Are embarrassing spider veins hurting your self image?

Sclerotherapy offers a solution to unsightly spider veins.

What are spider veins?

Spider veins are small, discolored blood vessels found on numerous surfaces of the body but most commonly occur on the legs. They may appear in a spider web pattern or as a series of short, unconnected lines. They are typically painless and are not dangerous but patients with spider veins often feel less confident.

What causes them?

How are spider veins treated?

Sclerotherapy is a nonsurgical procedure that has been used for many years to permanently eliminate spider veins from legs. A special solution called Asclera, which is more effective than saline, is injected into the spider vein. The body then absorbs that vessel and starts using the healthy blood vessels. After a single treatment, your spider veins will begin to resolve and completely disappear within approximately two months after treatment.

What to expect

Most sclerotherapy patients report little to no pain with the procedure. Common side effects are mild burning or itching that only lasts a few seconds.

What happens after treatment?

The treatment takes between 30-60 minutes and patients return to work or regular activity immediately. There is no downtime or time off work required.
